velvet duster + happy new year's eve!

Happy NYE! 🎉

For my last post of the year, I wanted to feature an outfit I absolutely love. I used to not wear black too often, and now it’s one of my favorite colors to style. I love the way dark colors look on my fair skin, it’s definitely flattering on everyone.
My favorite thing to do with a solid outfit like this one is to throw in a pop of color, whether it’s a red lip or this orange velvet duster I’m wearing in this look. One of my favorite YouTubers featured this duster on her Instagram, and I had to have it. I snagged it on Cyber Monday for an even cheaper price. It’s from Forever 21, so it’s already really affordable. I was worried about the quality, but it’s actually great!
I included a trendy belt and my new favorite earrings that I own from the best accessory site, Bauble Bar 😍 I highly recommend the gold and silver combination because they go with everything. I just got them in the mail less than a week ago and have already worn them three times; I’m that obsessed.
My Rebecca Minkoff purse and Cole Haan booties are my go-to’s when I wear black. They’re staple pieces in my closet. I also wanted to talk about my makeup. As I mentioned in my previous post about my beauty favorites, my number one is still the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette. It’s seriously the best eyeshadow palette I’ve ever tried. You need it in your life if you don’t have it already!
Finally, I wanted to also address why posting has been very limited in 2017. I had a year full of highs and lows, and I’m determined to make 2018 a much better one. Bottom line, I need to focus more on the present as well as myself and becoming a better version of who I’m ultimately meant to be (deep). Hopefully the better year ahead will include many more posts for my blog 😉

Have a fun and safe New Year! Talk to y’all soon :)

current fall beauty favorites

Hey everyone!

I'm really glad to get this post up for y'all because I've had it planned out for a while! These are all my makeup favorites right now and basically all I've been using. Each of these products I stand by 100% so if you're ever in Sephora, Ulta, etc. I would definitely recommend checking them all out! After choosing all the products, I was super surprised that I had NO lipsticks/lip stains to share with you. I've just been wearing what I usually do, but I don't think I've found my staple lip product that goes with every look yet. If you have any suggestions, let me know!

  1. JACLYN HILL X MORPHE PALETTE: Okay… I didn’t think I needed this because I already have so many warm toned eyeshadows but I was so wrong. This is hands down my favorite palette and ever since I bought it, it’s ALL I use. It’s affordable for the amount of shadows you get, and you can create so many different looks with it. The quality is amazing, and I can’t say enough good things. If you don’t have it, you NEED to get your hands on it. Morphe is now sold at Ulta so you can buy it in stores!
  1. FENTY BEAUTY FOUNDATION: Love love love - the formula is amazing and feels so light on the skin. I’ve found it’s medium to full coverage, and a little goes a long way. I was worried to try this out at first because it’s a matte foundation and I have normal to dry skin. But I found that if I moisturize and prime my face like I normally do, it works perfectly. Now, for the shade range: Rihanna created 40 foundation shades to make sure there’s one to match every skin tone. Super cool so props to her for that one, and surprise surprise I’m the lightest one.
  1. URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER MAKEUP SETTING SPRAY: This is actually my first time purchasing and using this even though it’s been out and talked about for the longest time. Now I get the hype! I’m on my school’s newscast and usually have a problem having my makeup and foundation stay perfect during the day all the way until the end of the show. I bought this to see if it would help at all, and it definitely does. My foundation doesn’t move so it’s for sure worth the buy!
  1. WET N WILD CONTOUR MAKEUP STICK: I got the shade “Oak’s On You,” partly because it was one of the only ones left… the shade looked way too dark at first when I tried to blend it out with a beauty blender, and that definitely wasn’t the way to go with it. It looks WAY better blended out with a duo fiber brush. It looks so natural, and the product is only a few dollars - I can’t say enough good things!
  1. BENEFIT KA-BROW!: I still don’t think this brow product is as good as the Anastasia Brow Wiz, BUT it looks way more natural and is perfect for my everyday makeup for class. This looks perfect when I wear BB cream, some mascara and powder.
  1. KIKO MILANO FALL 2.0 MASCARA: I usually think that there’s quite a bit of a difference between drugstore and high end mascaras, but this one is SO SIMILAR to my Tarte “lights, camera, LASHES” mascara. It makes my lashes super long and doesn’t clump at all.
  1. TARTE BLUSH IN “UNSTOPPABLE”: I can’t remember if I talked about this blush on here before, but it doesn’t matter because it’s still my absolute favorite! This is one of the only blushes I ever wear, and it goes with absolutely every makeup look. I love the tone on my fair skin, and it just looks so pretty on. I really like darker toned blushes as opposed to super bright or light pink ones. If you’re in Sephora or Ulta, definitely swatch this one and try it out!

Thanks for reading 😘

Stripes & Rips

Happy October, everyone!

But seriously, how is it already October?! I really wanted to get this post up for y’all this weekend because I love this outfit and wanted to share it before it starts to get cold! (which is hopefully soon 😁)
It’s supposed to be in the 70’s here in Norman all week which is great weather but I love the cold so it needs to drop about 20 degrees for me to be satisfied completely 😉
This is another one of the outfits I shot with Colby, again follow him on Instagram here! I would have uploaded this post earlier but life has been so busy/crazy these past couple of weeks.
My striped button-down and ripped jeans are both from Zara. I had no idea how great Zara’s jeans were until I bought these. They fit so perfectly, and they didn’t break the bank!
Definitely worth checking out. As for my shoes, I’m pretty sure they’re from Francesca’s but I could be wrong 🙈
As for accessories, I got this brown leather cross body in Italy this past summer but I’ve see so many like it! Be sure to message me if you have any questions about jewelry or anything else I'm wearing!

I hope you enjoyed this short & sweet post and that you have an amazing week ahead of you.

Talk to y’all soon :)

transition to fall

Hey everyone!

I wanna start off by saying I would have uploaded a post earlier, but it’s been a crazy past month! Moving into an apartment, starting my junior year of college and just getting caught up and situated for the new semester.
Now that I’ve gotten into the groove of things, I’m excited to be uploading regularly again 😊
This post was so much fun to shoot with my incredibly talented friend, Colby. (Still working on getting his website up and running but in the meantime, follow his Instagram). We spent the day in an arts district in Oklahoma City which was perfect for pictures, and I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out!
Now, let’s get on to the outfit… this denim jumpsuit from SheIn was a STEAL and so comfortable/easy to style. I got it for my Italy trip, and it’s still not cold enough here so I get to wear it again now. (Fall wya?) Speaking of Italy, the earrings I’m wearing are from a small little shop I found on my trip. They’re so different and remind me of my favorite vacation whenever I wear them. My shoes are the ever-popular mules from Chinese Laundry. These are definitely a staple in every wardrobe!
I wanted to throw on the mustard cardigan to make the look more fall appropriate, but I swear, it was way too hot to actually put it on.
I hope you enjoyed this look! Be on the lookout for more posts and collaborations coming very soon!

Talk to y’all soon 😘

ITALY + FRANCE VACATION RECAP

Hey everyone :)

My entire trip I was thinking about creating this post for my blog because its been my best vacation yet.
I’m currently writing this on my flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Austin, TX. It’s only been a few hours, and it’s already killing me… I’m ready to be home!!
Anyway, I thought I’d try and make good use of my time by writing this post for y’all.
I went on a two week trip with my family to so many beautiful cities/towns in Italy and Nice, France. I’ve never been to Europe and have always wanted to go for so many reasons - especially Italy! And let me tell you… it was nothing short of incredible.
The architecture and detail of all the old buildings and houses made every turn more mind-blowing than the next. It’s hard to fit everything I did and saw in just one post, but I’ll do my best! Ever since we landed in Italy we were on the go nonstop. From the most intense, tiring hike I’ve ever been on to exploring Rome to relaxing on a gorgeous beach to train hopping all the way to France - we did it all!
First, we stayed in a town called Levanto which was made up of mostly locals and hardly any tourists which I loved. I like being able to see a country for how it is naturally and what the atmosphere and people there are really like. We stayed in Levanto for about a week, going to Portofinio (amazing) for a day then to Nice for another.
One of my favorites in Italy was Cinque Terre which is made up of 5 separate cities. It’s literally JUST like the movies and even more beautiful than the pictures. Trust me, these pictures don’t do Italy any justice. You have to experience it if  you’re ever given the opportunity.
The next week, we went to Pisa, Bologna, Venice & Rome… and I don’t think you need me to tell you how incredible those were. Venice was also one my favorites (they basically all were, what am I saying) I think the gondola ride really won me over because of all of the old, colorful apartments and buildings that surrounded the water. There were local artists everywhere showcasing their craft on every street and actively creating right in front of others. Vendors, musicians, locals and tourists filled the streets of Venice.
For Rome, what really made an impression was the historical sites. The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, The Vatican, The Pantheon, Sistine Chapel, etc. This is where a “things to do before you die” list comes in to play. I know I say everything is beautiful and incredible but this was just… wow.
Finally… let’s talk about the good stuff. Food. If you want to taste the best pizza/pasta/gelato you’ll ever have in your life, that’s another reason to visit Italy. Enough said.
I can’t compare a single thing from this trip to anything I’ve ever seen or experienced before, and because of that, I know how important traveling is and how as I grow older, it’ll be more of a priority in my life.

I want these pictures to show you just a small taste of the most beautiful sights in the world.

Hope you enjoyed :)
