To Year 19

Hey guys! Long time, no talk. I know this is probably the most common excuse ever, but I've been SO busy with school especially within the last few weeks. I only have about a month and a half left of Freshman year which is crazy. Time definitely flew past me, and I have no idea where it went.

On another note, I recently turned 19 on March 27th which was the same day as Easter. To be honest, I've already said this, but turning 19 is just about as exciting as turning 14. It's not a very significant age, but what made my day so special was my amazing family and the love I received from all of my friends. I was SPOILED to say the least, and I'm so blessed to have the people that I do in my life. I'm thankful for them every day. It was a great start to my year as a 19 year old, no matter how unexciting that really is (haha).

My 19th year resolution is to make more blog posts and post new content consistently for you guys; I promise it will definitely pick up in the summer!

Current Beauty Must-Haves

I'm officially on spring break where I'm spending it at home so that means more time for blogging, right? (Hopefully) So I've been trying out so many new products lately and thought I'd share what I've currently been loving with y'all! I will definitely do more favorites posts
and product reviews in the future, since that seems to be what is most popular on my blog!

1. Urban Decay "Naked Skin" Foundation: I recently purchased this foundation a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it. The formula gives such a flawless, natural look to the skin and is buildable to allow for more coverage.

2. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in "Thankful": This shade is perfect for spring and provides the perfect peachy flush to the cheeks, it's super pigmented and a little goes a long way.

3. Stila "One-Step Correct" Primer: Okay, I already know this product will be a staple piece, it helps eliminate my redness while providing a smooth base for my foundation.

4. Mac Lipstick in "Coral Bliss": Again, super pretty for the spring. It's the perfect shade for every day and will go with so many different makeup looks.

5. Benefit "Hoola" Bronzer: I was afraid to try out this product at first because my skin is SO pale, but I heard amazing reviews about it for so long and decided to try it out. It definitely wasn't as bad as I thought and worked well when I blended it into my skin. I was also in need of a new bronzer, and I think I found the perfect one!

6. Anastasia Beverly Hills "Brow Wiz": Alright, this is the best brow product I've used and it will definitely stay in my collection for a while. I've already repurchased it and will keep using it until something better and new comes out! (This is Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer status)

7. NYX "The Curve" Eyeliner: This liquid liner is super affordable and works just as well as the high-end liners I've tried, it's super easy to create a winged eye look or just a simple upper lash line.

8. Makeup Geek Eyeshadow in "Creme Brûlée": These shadows are also very affordable and amazing quality. This particular shade is a great crease transition shade, which I use just about every day.

Transition to Spring

Alright, I'm so excited that spring is (basically) already here. Beautiful weather, cute dresses, flowers... what more could you want? I was inspired to create a post out of this outfit because 1) it's super easy to throw on a dress and call it a day and 2) Easter is coming up and this pastel blue & lace dress would be perfect for it.
I would link the dress I'm wearing, but it isn't sold anymore :( I got it from shoptobi.com which has a lot of other new and adorable dresses available on the site. Use the discount code TOBI50 to get 50% your first purchase!
Spring break is also coming up next week for me which is super exciting because I could definitely use a break from school and see my family! The following week after the break comes Easter, which happens to fall on my 19th birthday this year. Make sure to send me feedback if you would like to see a birthday wish list or outfit post, or both! Enjoy the season & have a fantastic day, loves.

Snag The Sales

So... I kind of discovered these adorable sale items when they popped up in an email during class (oops) and knew I had to share. Nordstrom always has great markdowns year-round including their semi-annual sale which always wipes out my bank account. It also doesn't help that there are no Nordstrom stores in Oklahoma whatsoever, which makes me justify buying half of the store when I'm back home in Dallas. If you want any of these items, order them quickly because cute stuff sells out fast!

1. Zella 'Live In - Starscape' Leggings: Okay, these are so cute. I've heard a lot of great things about the Zella brand, but I've never bought any of it before - which I need to! The patter and mesh detailing are so unique, and they're perfect for working out or going to class in.

2. Painted Threads Lace Up Top: I may or may not have already ordered this. It's perfect for game days here at OU, and it's such a great price! It's also available in olive and black which are also super cute.

3. Joe's 'Icon' Skinny Jeans: These jeans are the perfect wash that would go with any outfit, and they're really comfortable!

4. Free People 'Moonshine V' Cold Shoulder Sweater: I really wanna buy this sweater for myself, it's so cute (I know I say that a lot, but it's true!). This color would especially look great on someone who has a tan, unlike yours truly.

5. Dreamers by Debut Cowl Neck Tunic Sweater: This sweater looks so comfortable and would be cute dressed up or dressed down. You could add a scarf, layered necklaces, or just keep it simple!

6. BP. Long Sleeve V-Neck Sweater Dress: I really think this dress is a staple piece in a wardrobe. You could throw on booties or keep it casual with a pair of converse or combat boots.

Make sure you check out the Nordstrom sale section!

A Glimpse of the Future

Being a freshman in college, it’s hard to always have my life together at every moment. I don’t always know what I want or what exactly I want to pursue. It’s completely normal, I know, because asking any 18 year old what their future will look like and what they want to be doing is a pretty difficult question to answer. I’ve learned over the past semester and couple of weeks that I’ve been back that no matter what you want to be doing with your life later on, it’s always important to keep an open mind to all the possibilities in store. As a journalism major, I’m unsure exactly of which specific route I want to take, the broadcast or print side. I found it extremely important to take advantage of every opportunity OU has to offer me, especially regarding my major. Along with my blog, I intern for OU Nightly, OU’s broadcast show, where I’ve been learning things I would’ve never have before. I write for The Odyssey, where college students are open to write about whatever they would like. And finally, I just got accepted in to the News Academy for OU Daily, the school’s newspaper. It’s definitely a lot, but I really utilize the opportunities available because I know gaining experience will really help me in the end in my career and lead me to discover what it is that I truly am passionate about. My biggest advice for someone who doesn’t quite know what path they want to follow within their major, or even which major to pursue at all, is to get involved. Meet people, create connections, and join clubs and organizations. This is what I’ve been doing and it’s helped me tremendously in discovering who I am and what it is I want to do with my life. Even if getting involved doesn’t lead you to the path you want right away, it’s a big step in the right direction.

Fur Vest & Comfy Booties

Winter break is wrapping up and coming to an end which means my second semester of college starts in less than a week (scary). Before heading back up to Norman, what’s better than catching up with a great friend who also has a blog and wants to take pictures for it? Oh right, nothing. I've come to find that Dallas has some great little spots to take pictures at.
Since I hardly get to dress cute in college because my "go to" outfit is leggings, my nikes, and a big t-shirt, any chance I get, I'll take to dress up. Fur vests are one of my essential pieces for winter. They're effortless and add just the right amount to an outfit. I paired the look with my taupe booties from a local boutique (linked below) and absolutely adore them!

December Favorites 2015

Happy New Year, Loves! 2015 was definitely one of the most influential years of my life, from graduating high school to starting and finishing my first semester of college, it's made a huge impact on who I've grown to become. Since it's the beginning of January now, I thought I'd share what I was loving (and continue to love) in the month of December.

1. Essie Nail Polish in "Merino Cool": It's the perfect taupe-purple shade for the fall and goes with just about everything. If you asked me any time during december what nail polish I had on, it was this!

2. Lulu Lemon "Splendour" Sports Bra: I bought this sports bra on Black Friday, where it was only $14 (crazy), they're never that cheap. Unfortunately, it's back to its full price, but it's definitely worth it. It's very supportive and fitting without being uncomfortable. It's perfect for working out and every day wear.

3. Kate Spade "Secret Garden" Mini Pendant: I ordered this necklace with the discount code "THRILL" for 25% off, which is still valid through tomorrow! It was already on sale, so the added discount made it even cheaper. The pendant goes with just about everything, and it's super pretty. The one I have has the "Jet" stone rather than "Sapphire," which is the only one available.

4. Mac Lipstick in "Rebel": This deep, vibrant plum shade is perfect for winter and fall. I've been wearing it for every occasion throughout the Holidays this season.

5. Starbucks Carmel Brûlée Latte: This was my favorite seasonal drink, by far. It's just so good- enough said.

6. Too Faced "Better Than Sex" Mascara: The name says it all, and it doesn't disappoint. It gives you the blackest lashes, along with volume and length.
